Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd (Takaful Malaysia) recorded a 6.5% increase in profit before tax and zakat to RM305.6 million for the first half of 2026 (1H26), from RM287 million a year earlier, driven mainly by stronger Takaful Service Result.
Takaful revenue rose 7.5% to RM1.99 billion from RM1.85 billion, comprising RM1.1 billion in short-term contribution releases, RM722.9 million from takaful coverage charges and RM148.6 million in Contractual Service Margin releases.
The second quarter also delivered stronger growth, with takaful revenue climbing 16.3% to about RM1 billion from RM867.1 million, supported by higher takaful coverage charges and CSM releases.
Quarterly profit before tax and zakat increased 8.5% to RM147.4 million from RM135.9 million, similarly driven by improved Takaful Service Result.
Looking ahead, Takaful Malaysia remains positive on the insurance and takaful sector, supported by continued demand for protection products despite cost-of-living pressures and geopolitical uncertainties.
