MNRB Starts FY27 Strong As 1Q PAT Rises To RM183.8 Million

MNRB Holdings Bhd made a strong start to FY27, with profit after tax (PAT) rising 9.1% year-on-year to RM183.8 million in the first quarter (1Q27), extending the earnings momentum from its record FY26 performance.

The stronger result was supported by higher earnings from its reinsurance, retakaful and takaful businesses, while total revenue increased 2.8% to RM1 billion. Insurance and takaful revenue rose 3.2% to RM894 million.

Reinsurance and retakaful remained the key earnings driver, contributing 76.3% of group PAT. The takaful businesses also delivered stronger earnings, with combined PAT increasing 23.8% to RM29.6 million, driven by higher wakalah income across family and general portfolios.

Interim President and Group CEO Datuk Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin said the results reflected progress in strengthening MNRB’s businesses and its focus on sustainable, profitable growth as it realigns around its core reinsurance and retakaful strengths.

MNRB is also progressing its proposed acquisition of the remaining 80% stake in Labuan Reinsurance and the proposed RM1.64 billion divestment of Takaful IKHLAS as part of its transformation into a more focused reinsurance and retakaful group.
