MPI’s bruising week, Nestlé’s steady climb

The week’s biggest story was arguably MPI’s sharp reversal. After beginning Monday as the biggest decliner, it rebounded strongly on Tuesday before suffering increasingly heavy losses from Wednesday through Friday.

MPI ended Friday at RM43.20, down RM3.80 from Monday’s RM47.

Nestlé provided the opposite narrative. The stock gained on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, rising from RM102.70 to RM104.80 before Friday’s RM1 decline left it at RM103.80.

The week also showed repeated rotations across sectors, with consumer, technology, plantation, utilities and industrial counters taking turns at the top of Bursa’s daily leaderboard.
