Singapore equities opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) gaining 16.98 points, or 0.3%, to 5,705.94 as at 9.11am.
Market breadth was positive, with 120 advancers against 74 decliners. Trading volume stood at 133.55 million securities with a total value of S$172.52 million.
Among the blue chips, DBS Group Holdings rose S$0.33, or 0.43%, to S$76.33. OCBC Bank gained to S$30.94 while UOB traded at S$40.87.
Singtel was at S$4.38, while SATS rose to S$4.01. YZJ Shipbuilding traded at S$4.81 and CNMC Goldmine at S$1.60.
The REIT segment was largely steady in early trade. Suntec REIT was unchanged at S$1.56, while Mapletree PanAsia Commercial Trust traded at S$1.28 and Mapletree Logistics Trust at S$1.18.
ParkwayLife REIT stood at S$4.17, CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust at S$2.41 and CapitaLand Ascendas REIT at S$2.47.
In derivatives, SGX’s FTSE China A50 Index Futures stood at 14,843 points as at 8.58am, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures were at 66,015 points.
The FTSE China H50 Index Futures was at 16,415 points, while SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures stood at 3,890.25 points.
Meanwhile, the USD/SGD Futures contract for September 2026 was at 1.2669, while USD/CNH Futures stood at 6.7091.
