The Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF) has reduced its substantial shareholding in plantation group SD Guthrie Berhad following a series of open market share disposals and acquisitions.
According to a disclosure filed, the pension fund registered a net disposal of 4,898,300 ordinary shares across various portfolio accounts managed by Citigroup Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd on August 19, 2026.
The transactions involved five separate account adjustments, including the disposal of 2,149,000 shares from its direct account and 3,095,800 shares from the EPF Board-IC account. These disposals were partially offset by smaller acquisitions, including 250,000 shares through the EPF Board (ARIM) account and 100,000 shares via the EPF Board (NIAM EQ) IC account, alongside a minor disposal of 3,500 shares from the EPF Board (F.TEMISLAMIC) IC account.
Following the net reduction, EPF’s total equity interest in SD Guthrie stands at 1,266,220,108 ordinary shares, which represents an 18.309 percent combined stake in the company.
The pension fund’s remaining holding comprises 813,076,783 shares held under direct interest, accounting for 11.757 percent, and 453,143,325 shares held under indirect or deemed interest, representing 6.552 percent.
