STI Nudges Higher Despite Broader Selling At Singapore Open

Singapore shares opened marginally higher on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) rising 10.24 points, or 0.18%, to 5,690.70 as of 9:49am.

Market breadth remained negative, with 116 advancers against 184 decliners. Trading volume stood at 166.27 million shares, valued at S$316.44 million.

Among key counters, DBS rose to S$75.80, while OCBC Bank gained to S$30.99 and UOB traded at S$41.08. Singtel was at S$4.45 and ST Engineering at S$10.61.

UMS was the most active stock in focus, falling S$0.04, or 1.50%, to S$2.62.

In the derivatives market, trading volume reached 244,820 contracts, with FTSE China A50 Index Futures August 2026 at 14,589.00 on volume of 73,488 contracts as of 9:39am.
