Sunway Theme Parks has expressed regret over an incident involving an attraction at Sunway Lagoon on Aug 22 that affected 10 guests, as questions over theme park safety standards and regulatory oversight come into sharper focus.
In a statement, Sunway Theme Parks said its immediate priority following the incident was the care, medical needs and wellbeing of those affected.
The operator said it had provided the necessary medical assistance and support and remained in close contact with the affected guests and their families.
“We sincerely regret the distress and concern caused by the incident,” it said, adding that the safety and wellbeing of its guests remained its highest priority.
