IJM Corp Wins RM909.5 Million In New High-Tech Manufacturing Projects

IJM Corporation Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd has secured two projects worth a combined RM909.5 million in the semiconductor and medical technology sectors, adding to its order book for the financial year 2027.

The contracts comprise a RM455 million project involving civil, structural and building works for an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) warehouse at a semiconductor facility in Kulim, Kedah, owned by a multinational technology company.

The second project, valued at RM454.5 million, involves the construction of a medical device manufacturing facility for Intuitive Surgical Malaysia Sdn Bhd at Bandar Cassia Technology Park in Batu Kawan, Penang.

IJM Corp said both projects are scheduled for completion in less than 18 months, reflecting the tighter delivery timelines increasingly required for high-tech manufacturing facilities.

The new Intuitive Surgical facility will support the production of surgical instruments and electromechanical devices used in robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures. It will also mark IJM Construction’s second medical device manufacturing project.

IJM Construction’s current outstanding order book stands at RM14.51 billion, covering public and private sector projects across building construction, high-tech industrial facilities and civil engineering.

High-tech industrial facilities now account for about 55% of the group’s domestic construction order book, highlighting the growing contribution of the sector to its portfolio.
