Sime Darby Property Bhd shares climbed 5.3% to RM1.39 by 11.50 am, gaining 7 sen from the previous close as investors responded to the property developer’s stronger 2QFY26 earnings and higher dividend payout.
The stock opened at RM1.35 and rose as high as RM1.41 during the session, with 86.91 million shares changing hands. The counter was trading between RM1.35 and RM1.41, while its last adjusted closing price stood at RM1.32.
The gains came after Sime Darby Property reported a more than doubling in second-quarter profit after tax to RM324 million, compared with RM1.1 billion in revenue, up from RM1 billion a year earlier.
For the first half, revenue reached RM2 billion while profit before tax rose 60% year-on-year to RM635.6 million and profit after tax and minority interest increased 84% to RM480.8 million.
The group’s Industrial, Residential and Commercial segment continued to benefit from stronger construction progress across key developments, while its Investment, Asset Management segment was supported by data centre lease income, retail performance and industrial assets.
Sime Darby Property also declared a 1.7 sen dividend for 2QFY26, representing a 13% increase from a year earlier, with a total payout of RM115.6 million.
