Hong Leong Bank Bhd topped Bursa Malaysia’s gainers list on Aug 27, rising 88 sen to RM23.88, while Nestlé (M) Bhd led the decliners with a RM1 drop to RM103, as the broader market ended with a slight positive bias.
Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd was the second-biggest gainer, adding 40 sen to RM19.14, followed by ViTrox Corporation Bhd, which climbed 38 sen to RM9.50.
Mi Technovation Bhd and Petronas Gas Bhd also advanced 24 sen each to RM6.49 and RM17.82, respectively.
Among the losers, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd fell 40 sen to RM25.90, while United Plantations Bhd declined 24 sen to RM31.28.
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd shed 22 sen to RM31.46, while Kumpulan Fima Bhd dropped 16 sen to RM2.69.
Overall market breadth remained positive, with 612 gainers outpacing 596 losers, while 568 counters were unchanged, 1,097 untraded and 124 suspended.
Market turnover eased to 3.85 billion units worth RM3.46 billion from 4.17 billion units valued at RM4.23 billion on Aug 26.
