MNRB Plans RM500 Million Commercial Paper Programme

MNRB Holdings Berhad is proposing to establish a RM500 million commercial paper (CP) programme to provide funding for working capital, investments, capital expenditure and other corporate purposes.

The insurance and reinsurance group said it lodged the required information and documents for the proposed programme with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) on Sept 1, 2026, under the regulator’s Lodge and Launch Framework.

The programme will allow MNRB to issue commercial papers from time to time with an aggregate nominal value of up to RM500 million.

It will have a tenure of seven years from the date of the first issuance, with the initial commercial papers to be issued within 90 business days from the lodgement date, or within another period prescribed by the SC.

Individual commercial papers issued under the programme will have tenures ranging from one month to 12 months and must mature before the expiry of the overall programme.

MNRB said the programme has been assigned a P1 short-term credit rating by RAM Rating Services Berhad.

Proceeds raised through the commercial papers will be used for the group’s general working capital requirements, strategic and general investments, capital expenditure, refinancing and other general corporate purposes. Part of the proceeds may also be used to cover expenses associated with establishing the programme.

Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad has been appointed as the principal adviser, lead arranger and lead manager for the CP programme.
