Pekat Secures RM57 Million Subcontract For Johor Data Centre Project

Pekat Group Berhad announced that it has secured three subcontract agreements worth a combined RM57.18 million for the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection systems and associated works for a hyperscale data centre project in Johor Bahru, Johor.

The contracts were secured by an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, from a Malaysian private company principally involved in engineering, construction services and investment holding. Due to the confidentiality obligation, the Company is unable to disclose the identity of theclient.

The first subcontract, valued at RM27.21 million, involves the supply, deliver, install and carry out the testing and commissioning of earthing and lightning protection systems.

The second subcontract, valued at RM4.64 million, involves the supply and installation of earthing and lightning protection system for a substation.

The third subcontract, valued at RM25.33 million, covers the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection services, including the installation of earth mats, lightning protection systems, associated cabling, copper tapes, joints, terminations, fixings and accessories, as well as related civil worksassociated with the earthing and lightning protection systems installation.

The first subcontract is targeted for completion by September 2027, while the second and third subcontracts are targeted for completion by February 2027, subject to any extension of time or variation granted in accordance with the terms of the respective subcontracts.
