Marvel’s next Avengers film has already generated more than US$50 million in domestic ticket pre-sales, with more than three months still to go before its December release.
Avengers: Doomsday reaches cinemas on December 18, 2026, opening the same weekend as Denis Villeneuve’s third Dune film. According to Deadline, more than 70% of the film’s current ticket sales are for Infinity Vision, pointing to strong early demand for premium-format screenings.
The early sales come after a major marketing push. The film’s July trailer became the second-biggest movie trailer launch on record and Disney’s most-viewed trailer to date.
Marvel also generated significant online attention with its more than five-hour livestream revealing the Doomsday cast. The event reportedly drew 275 million digital views and 3.1 million social mentions.
The film enters theatres after Spider-Man: Brand New Day set a new Marvel opening-weekend record with US$360 million worldwide, edging past Avengers: Endgame’s US$357.1 million debut from 2019. Brand New Day had also reached US$150 million in advance ticket sales by the Thursday before its July 31 release.
The early momentum for Doomsday is also spilling into streaming. Disney+ recorded more than 420 million hours watched for Marvel titles in August, with Disney reporting that the theatrical release generated its biggest-ever streaming lift tied to a film, at more than 200 million hours.
With December 18 still months away, Avengers: Doomsday has already cleared US$50 million in domestic advance sales. The bigger test will be how much of that early interest carries through to opening weekend.
