Dorsett Grand Subang Appoints Nigel Boey as General Manager

Dorsett Grand Subang has recently announced the appointment of Mr Nigel Boey as General Manager, effective 1 September 2026. With
more than 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Nigel has built his career across renowned hospitality groups including Las Vegas Sands, Marriott International, Millennium & Copthorne International and Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Most recently, Nigel was with UOL Group Limited, where he has served as Assistant General Manager, following his tenure as Commercial Director of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Singapore for two years. These roles further strengthened his expertise in commercial strategy, revenue management, business development and hotel operations.

“Each role has given me a different perspective of the hospitality business and a deeper appreciation of the nuances of our industry. I am especially excited to return to property operations, where I can work closely with the team, drive meaningful change and see first-hand the positive impact of our collective efforts on both guests and colleagues.”

Nigel was drawn to the opportunity by the hotel’s strong foundations and potential for growth. Having experienced the property as a guest prior to joining, he saw an opportunity to build on its existing strengths and embark on an exciting new chapter.

“What attracted me to this appointment was the tremendous potential I saw in the hotel. With the right investments, vision and team, I believe the hotel is poised for an exciting new chapter.”

As General Manager, Nigel will oversee the overall operations and strategic direction of Dorsett Grand Subang, with a focus on commercial performance, guest experience and team development. He is particularly looking forward to being part of the hotel’s transformation and
creating positive changes for guests, associates and the local community.

“There are many exciting developments on the horizon and while I cannot reveal too much just yet, I can say that guests, associates and the local community can look forward to some very positive changes. Watch this space.”

Nigel believes that commercial performance and guest experience are fundamentally interconnected. While financial performance is essential to a hotel’s sustainability, he believes that exceptional guest experiences, engaged associates and strong guest loyalty are equally important drivers of long-term success.

His approach to guest experience begins well before arrival. From the moment a reservation is made, every interaction, whether through a website, phone call, email or digital communication, shapes a guest’s expectations. During the stay, anticipating needs, personalising interactions and paying attention to the small details can transform a good stay into an exceptional one.

“Hospitality is ultimately about people. Buildings, facilities and technology are important, but it is the connections we create, the memories we deliver and the passion of our people that truly define a great hotel.”

Outside of work, Nigel enjoys badminton, tennis and running, which help him stay active, recharge and maintain perspective. He also values spending time with family and friends, discovering new experiences and continuing to learn.

As he begins his tenure at Dorsett Grand Subang, Nigel looks forward to working closely with the team to build on the hotel’s strengths, strengthen its market position and create meaningful experiences for guests, associates and the wider community.
