The stock market movement ended on a mixed note for its trading session on Sept 10, with Nestle (M) Bhd leading the losers, as overall market breadth remained negative.
Nestle fell RM1 to RM92, making it the day’s biggest decliner, followed by Heineken Malaysia Bhd, which dropped 28 sen to RM14.56, while Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd and Telekom Malaysia Bhd each lost 18 sen to RM12.70 and RM8 respectively. Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, rounding up the session top losers, slipped 16 sen to RM22.74.
On the upside, Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PetDag) rose 36 sen to RM20.66 to lead the gainers. United Plantations Bhd advanced 30 sen to RM33.30, while Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd gained 27 sen to RM4.82.
Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd added 24 sen to RM3.52, while Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd climbed 23 sen to RM3.39.
Despite the gains in selected counters, market breadth stayed negative, with 657 decliners against 532 gainers. Another 515 counters were unchanged, 1,127 untraded and 21 suspended.
Turnover increased to 3.98 billion units worth RM3.14 billion from 3.66 billion units valued at RM3.49 billion on Sept 9.
