Range Rover has entered the fully electric segment with the new Range Rover Electric, its first battery-powered model, combining a dual-motor setup with up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque.
The SUV uses two permanent-magnet electric motors rated at 260kW each, paired with a usable 118.5kWh lithium-ion battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture. Range Rover quotes a WLTP range of up to about 599km, while real-world testing delivered up to 535km.
Performance is equally substantial as the Range Rover Electric can accelerate from 0-97kmh in 4.3 seconds, while the 5080kmh-121kmh sprint takes as little as 2.7 seconds.
Charging is handled through a split-charging system that supports rapid DC charging at up to 350kW. Under suitable conditions, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 22 minutes, while a 10-minute charge can add up to 220km of WLTP range.
Range Rover has also reworked the drivetrain control systems for electric propulsion. Integrated Traction Management can respond within 50 milliseconds, while Intelligent Driveline Dynamics continuously manages torque distribution to help maintain grip across changing surfaces.
Its off-road capability remains intact, with the SUV able to wade through water up to 900mm deep. Single-pedal driving also allows standing starts on slopes of up to 33 degrees and rolling climbs of up to 45 degrees.

The exterior stays close to the familiar Range Rover shape, with changes concentrated on aerodynamics, including an optimised grille, wheels and underbody.
Depending on the market, the model will be offered in short- and long-wheelbase configurations across SE, HSE, Autobiography and selected SV variants.
