Thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected in several parts of East Malaysia this afternoon, with areas in Sarawak and Sabah under a weather warning until 5 pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the warning was issued at 2 pm on Saturday, covering parts of Kapit, Betong, Sri Aman, Kuching, Samarahan, Limbang, Bintulu and Miri in Sarawak.
In Sabah, affected areas include Tambunan and Sipitang in the Interior, as well as Tuaran, Kota Belud, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan and Papar along the West Coast.
The warning also covers Perlis, parts of Kedah, Penang and parts of Perak, where thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected.
