Tan Chong Signs Three Year Assembly Support Deal For Perodua Electric

Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd’s wholly owned unit Tan Chong Motor Assemblies Sdn Bhd (TCMA) has entered into a three-year master agreement with Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd to provide production-related services for Perodua’s battery electric vehicle project in Serendah.

TCM said the agreement was signed on Sept 12, 2026, following an earlier letter of intent announced in November 2025.

Under the agreement, TCMA will provide electro-deposition coating and painting line services, as well as rent out a designated assembly line and provide related services for Perodua’s BEV project.

The agreement runs for three years from June 1, 2026, with Perodua holding an option to extend it for a further two years, provided the option is exercised at least six months before the initial term expires.

Perodua will pay service fees and rental charges to TCMA for the services provided.

The national carmaker will also be responsible for securing and maintaining the necessary regulatory approvals, permissions and licences relating to BEV manufacturing, as well as ensuring its project equipment is adequately insured.

Tan Chong Motor said the project is expected to contribute positively to the group’s revenue and earnings from the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026.

No shareholder or regulatory approval is required for the execution of the agreement.
