Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) falling 9.58 points, or 0.56%, to 1,688.43 as selling pressure weighed on the broader market.
The index opened at 1,694.91 before slipping to an early low of 1,688.18, with the decline extending from Monday’s close.
Other major indices were mixed, with the FBM70 edging up 0.29 point while the FBM Small Cap Index gained 16.15 points, or 0.10%. The FBM100 fell 52.17 points, or 0.42%.
Among the most actively traded counters, Zetrix rose 2 sen to 26.5 sen with 94.73 million shares traded, while MQ Technology gained 0.5 sen to 6 sen.
Butterfield FB fell 3.5 sen to 44.5 sen, while Top Glove declined 2 sen to 81 sen. Niche Integrated Solutions also slipped 0.5 sen to 28.5 sen.
Among the top gainers, Allianz Malaysia rose 28 sen to RM21.16, while Westports Holdings gained 21 sen to RM6.93. Kelington Group added 15 sen to RM8.77.
Meanwhile, Petronas Gas was the biggest decliner, falling 26 sen to RM17.14. Petronas Chemicals dropped 11 sen to RM5.16 while Kuala Lumpur Kepong slipped 10 sen to RM22.40.
