Nestle Malaysia Appoints Janet Gu From LVMH As Executive Director, CFO Effective Feb 2027

Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd has announced the impending appointment of Minjie Janet Gu as executive director and chief financial officer, effective Feb 1, 2027.

Gu will succeed Syed Saiful Islam, who will be transferred to another Nestlé market to take on a new role, the company said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.

She brings more than 20 years of finance experience across Asia and Oceania, including over 18 years with the Nestlé Group in local and regional finance leadership positions.

Gu is currently the regional chief financial officer and head of finance and control for Nestlé Professional Asia, Oceania and Africa, where she oversees finance and control across multiple markets and works with regional business leaders on performance, investments, strategic priorities and transformation.

Before assuming her current role, she served as head of corporate finance and decision support for Nestlé Oceania from 2020 to 2023, covering Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Her responsibilities included statutory financial reporting, treasury, enterprise risk management, internal controls, shared services, costing, business planning, performance management and governance processes.

Gu had also served as business controller for Coffee & Beverages and held various finance and business-partnering roles within Nestlé Oceania.

Prior to joining Nestlé, she held finance positions with LVMH China, ICI China and York International.

Nestlé Malaysia said Gu’s extensive experience in financial governance, risk management, treasury, internal controls, investment governance and transformation would support the company’s growth and strategic priorities.

The company said it will make the formal boardroom change announcement when Gu’s appointment takes effect on Feb 1, 2027.
