Steel Hawk Bhd executive director Salimi Khairuddin has resigned from the oil and gas services company with effect from Sept 15, 2026, to take a career break and focus on his personal interests.
The company said the 39-year-old had been appointed to its board on Dec 29, 2020 and has served as a director of Steel Hawk Engineering since February 2015.
Salimi has also been responsible for the group’s onshore operations as chief operating officer (Onshore), overseeing onshore engineering projects and managing the engineering design and fabrication of oilfield equipment.
He has around 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in fabrication, engineering design, quality assurance and quality control of oilfield equipment, as well as maintenance and modification services for onshore facilities.
Salimi joined the group in June 2013 as quality assurance and quality control manager before subsequently being promoted to lead its onshore operations.
Prior to joining Steel Hawk, he worked with Amalgamated Metal Corporation Sdn Bhd as a production coordinator and later with True Features Corporation Sdn Bhd as a quality assurance and quality control inspector.
He holds a Malaysian Skills Diploma in Welding and Fabrication Technology – Fabrication Management from the National Youth Skills Institute.
Salimi is also a substantial shareholder of Steel Hawk.
