SGX Opens In Green, STI Rises 12.10 Points

Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) rising 12.10 points or 0.21% to 5,650.74 as at 9:07am.

Market breadth was positive, with 104 stocks advancing against 59 decliners. Trading volume stood at 48.15 million shares, while traded value reached S$123.53 million.

Among key counters, DBS edged up 0.06% to S$76.81 while OCBC Bank was at S$31.20 and UOB at S$41.42.

SGX rose 0.22% to S$22.50, while Singtel gained to S$4.44. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was at S$5.11 and Keppel stood at S$11.19.

The REIT segment also saw modest gains, with CapLand Ascendas REIT rising 0.43% to S$2.33. CapLand Integrated Commercial Trust was at S$2.27, Keppel DC REIT at S$2.11 and Suntec REIT at S$1.37.

In derivatives, SGX’s FTSE China A50 Index Futures for September stood at 14,271.00 as at 8:53am, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for December were at 63,295.00.

The SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for September stood at 3,997.25, while MSCI Singapore Index Futures for September were at 527.70.
