MBSB Bank Bhd has provided RM29.6 million in financing facilities to support four public infrastructure projects across Sabah, covering bridge upgrades, flood mitigation and irrigation works.
The projects span Penampang, Kota Belud, Inanam, Beaufort and Tenom, with the works aimed at improving connectivity, water management and flood resilience for local communities.
One of the projects, the upgrading of Jambatan Sungai Moyog in Penampang, has been completed. It involved the construction of a 90-metre steel girder bridge connecting Stesen Perikanan Babagon, Kampung Timpango and Kampung Lotong, replacing the existing river crossing.
The upgraded bridge is expected to improve access for surrounding communities and facilitate the movement of agricultural products, fisheries supplies and other essential goods.
The financing also supports the upgrading of the Tempasuk South Irrigation Scheme in Kota Belud, flood mitigation works under the Rancangan Tebatan Banjir Sungai Padas programme, and the upgrading of Jambatan Dasar along Jalan Kiansom Lama in Inanam.
Collectively, the projects are intended to strengthen transport links, improve irrigation systems and reduce flood risks while supporting economic activity across Sabah.

The financing was provided to Sabah-based G7 contractor Bisajuta Sdn Bhd, which has been involved in public infrastructure and construction projects in the state since its incorporation in 2001.
