Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has confirmed the state executive council’s decision regarding the position of Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
Ismail said the Instrument of Proclamation had been discussed and unanimously decided upon by all members of the state executive council at its meeting on Tuesday.
“The gazettement process has already been requested by the Exco for the State Secretary to proceed with the gazettement declaration in accordance with existing regulations,” he told reporters after attending the Yayasan Negeri Sembilan Outstanding Graduate Awards ceremony here today.
The confirmation follows a statement issued by the Negeri Sembilan state government yesterday, which said the proclamation removing Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan was valid.
The decision was made collectively at a meeting of the State Executive Council chaired by Ismail on Tuesday.
The latest development comes amid an ongoing dispute over the validity of the proclamation concerning Tuanku Muhriz’s position.
