Reservoir Link Energy Bhd’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary RL Kenyalang Solar Sdn Bhd has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Syarikat SESCO Bhd for the development of a 200MWac solar photovoltaic facility in Tinjar, Sarawak.
Under the agreement signed on Sept 17, RL Kenyalang will design, construct, own, operate and maintain the solar facility, which will generate and supply electricity to SESCO.
The PPA sets out the terms governing the sale and purchase of the project’s net electrical output, with electricity generated by the facility to be delivered to SESCO in accordance with the agreed conditions.
RL Kenyalang is a special purpose vehicle established to undertake the project and execute the PPA. It is indirectly wholly owned by Reservoir Link through RL Power Sdn Bhd.
SESCO, meanwhile, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sarawak Energy Bhd and is responsible for electricity generation, transmission and distribution across Sarawak.
The total development cost of the Facility is estimated at RM570 million.
