The Melaka State Legislative Assembly will be dissolved tomorrow, Sept 23, following the consent of Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said.
Ab Rauf said he had met Tun Mohd Ali to inform him of the current position of the state assembly and seek his consent for its dissolution.
He said the dissolution would not affect the day-to-day administration of the state, with the existing government continuing to function as a temporary administration until a new government is formed.
“The dissolution of the state assembly does not mean government affairs will stop. They will continue as usual,” he told a press conference today.
Ab Rauf said the state administration would remain focused on ensuring that government affairs were carried out in an orderly manner and that the interests of the people continued to be protected during the transition.
