Aumas Resources Bhd said its chief executive officer, Chong Tzu Khen, was charged at the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court on Monday with three offences of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act involving a total sum of RM18,000.
This was in relation to charges during the period between April 2024 and October 2025.
Chong, who is also chief executive officer of Aumas’ wholly-owned subsidiary Wullersdorf Resources Sdn Bhd (WRSB), pleaded not guilty to all three charges, claimed trial and was granted bail.
The company stressed that no charge has been brought against Aumas or any of its subsidiaries.
Following the charges, Chong voluntarily took administrative leave from his executive and management duties at both Aumas and WRSB with effect from Sept 28 until further notice, pending the outcome of the court proceedings.
Aumas said the temporary leave is an interim measure and does not represent any determination by its board in relation to the charges.
WRSB’s operations will continue under its existing senior management team.
The board said it does not expect the legal proceedings involving Chong to have any material impact on the group’s operations or financial performance.
