Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his condolences to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family following the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali on Monday.
Dr Siti Hasmah died at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning at the age of 100. Her passing was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir. She is survived by Dr Mahathir and their seven children.
Anwar conveyed his sympathies to Dr Mahathir and the family over their loss.
Born on July 12, 1926, Dr Siti Hasmah was among Malaysia’s pioneering women in the medical profession and devoted part of her career to public health, particularly maternal and child healthcare.
