A former director-general of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) has been charged with deceiving the authority’s board of directors over a power of attorney that led to the transfer of ownership of 16 FELDA land parcels at Jalan Semarak in 2014.
Datuk Faizoull Ahmad, 66, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read before Sessions Court Judge Suzana Hussin in Kuala Lumpur today.
Faizoull is accused of concealing a June 3, 2014 power of attorney granted to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd, which gave the company authority to transfer ownership of the 16 parcels involved in the proposed FELDA Lot Development Project at Jalan Semarak.
The concealment allegedly induced FELDA’s board to agree to the power of attorney, resulting in the transfer of the land to Synergy Promenade KLVC Sdn Bhd and Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd.
The prosecution alleges the board would not have approved the power of attorney had it known about the concealed information.
The alleged offence took place at the board meeting room on Level 50 of Menara FELDA, Platinum Park, Persiaran KLCC, on Sept 2, 2014.
Faizoull was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of between one and 10 years, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
