Indonesia’s House of Representatives announced that it has formally approved Police Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto as the new national police chief, succeeding General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
The plenary assembly also approved Commission III’s report regarding the honorable discharge of outgoing chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman presented the committee’s findings to the floor after holding a confirmation hearing earlier in the day.
The swift parliamentary proceedings followed an official letter sent by President Prabowo Subianto on September 30 requesting Listyo’s replacement.
During his confirmation hearing, Suyudi outlined his strategic vision titled “Polri Bersama Masyarakat” (Police with the Community), promising closer cooperation between law enforcement and local communities to maintain public safety and order.
