John Galliano Brings His Couture Vision To Zara

Zara is bringing John Galliano’s couture perspective to a new collaboration, with the designer reworking the high-street label’s pieces through the Re{form} Zara project.

The collection is presented through a campaign featuring seven models in sharply styled black looks, with sheer fabrics, ruffles and exaggerated silhouettes shaping the visual direction.

The styling also pushes beyond the clothes. Several of the models wear bright blue lipstick, creating a stark contrast against the predominantly black wardrobe.

Galliano’s influence is particularly visible in the collection’s theatrical approach to tailoring and eveningwear. One look pairs a black coat with a fur collar, while another combines a purple skirt with long green gloves.

The project is structured around several parts, including the collection, lookbook, campaign film and installation. Zara describes Re{form} Zara as being authored by couturier John Galliano.

Rather than presenting a conventional seasonal collection, the project focuses on reworking Zara garments through Galliano’s design approach, placing the emphasis on construction, styling and silhouette.

The result brings the designer’s experimental fashion language into Zara’s retail setting, marking a notable meeting point between couture and high-street fashion.
