Heavy Downpour Delays Formula One Race In Sepang

Heavy rain delayed the start of the Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang on Sunday, with the scheduled race time pushed back as officials assessed weather conditions.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was due to start from pole position, but the race could not begin as scheduled because of the downpour. A new start time had yet to be determined.

The wet conditions could produce a more unpredictable race once officials deem the track safe for competition.

The Bahrain Grand Prix was originally scheduled for April but was postponed amid the conflict in West Asia. The race was subsequently moved to Malaysia and is being held at the Sepang International Circuit from Oct 2 to 4.

The race was delayed as heavy rain continued to affect conditions around the circuit, according to the German Press Agency (dpa), as reported by Bernama.
