With complaints piling up over shuttle services at the Sepang International Circuit, Grab Malaysia is ramping up its operations to ease traffic and passenger movement on the final day of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Grab said its teams have been deployed at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Long Term Car Park (LTCP) to guide driver-partners, assist waiting passengers and manage vehicle loading.
The e-hailing company is also providing a free shuttle service between SIC and LTCP, alongside the Grab PIN&RIDE queue-management feature to organise passenger queues and match users with available drivers.
Grab said it is working with event organisers to establish designated pick-up and drop-off lanes, while its operations teams are monitoring traffic conditions through GrabMaps to anticipate demand surges.
The company said shaded waiting areas with cooling fans and drinking water have also been provided at the locations.
The measures come as racegoers face transport and traffic challenges around the circuit, with the 56-lap F1 race scheduled to begin at 3 pm on Sunday.
Grab advised racegoers to allow additional travel time and follow traffic and directional signs when travelling to and from the circuit.
