Halal Development Corporation Bhd (HDC) has appointed Hanisofian Alias as its chief executive officer, effective Oct 1, following his tenure as interim CEO.
Hanisofian previously served as HDC’s chief industry development officer, overseeing industry governance, market development, sector competitiveness, knowledge management and international cooperation.
He joined HDC in 2008 after 13 years with a multinational company, where he held roles covering new product development, manufacturing operations, supplier quality management and project management.
As interim CEO, Hanisofian led HDC’s engagements with domestic and international stakeholders involving halal trade facilitation, investment linkages, market access and regional halal market cooperation.
His appointment comes as HDC continues efforts under the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030, with a focus on industry competitiveness, particularly among small and medium enterprises, market access, investment and international cooperation.
