Market Breadth Turns Negative As 599 Decliners Outpace 564 Gainers

Bursa Malaysia ended with a slightly negative market breadth as 599 decliners outnumbered 564 gainers, despite pockets of strength among selected technology and renewable energy counters.

Batu Kawan Bhd topped the losers after sliding RM1.48 to RM18.98, followed by United Plantations Bhd as the counter fell 32 sen to RM31.06, while Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd dropped 18 sen to RM3.46.

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd and Kobay Technology Bhd each lost 14 sen to RM20.86 and RM2.16, respectively.

On the upside, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd led the gainers with a RM1 jump to RM43.40. Kelington Group Bhd was the second-best performer, rising 49 sen to RM9.12, followed by Nestlé (M) Bhd, which gained 48 sen to RM90.

UMS Integration Ltd advanced 37 sen to RM9.40, while Samaiden Group Bhd climbed 35 sen to RM3.19.

A total of 523 counters were unchanged, while 1,087 were untraded and 24 suspended.

Trading activity strengthened, with turnover rising to 4.78 billion units worth RM2.89 billion compared to 4.23 billion units valued at RM2.7 billion on Oct 2.
