Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has recorded a RM4.64 billion profit, the highest in its history, supported by stronger performance from both existing and new investments as well as tighter investment governance.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the record performance demonstrated the effectiveness of TH’s investment strategy and improvements in governance.
“Since last year, we have recorded the highest profit in Tabung Haji’s history at RM4.64 billion.
“This shows that the investments undertaken, whether new or existing, have proven successful,” he told the Dewan Rakyat in response to a supplementary question from the Besut MP.
Zulkifli said TH subjects investment proposals to multiple layers of scrutiny before decisions are made.
The record RM4.64 billion profit, coupled with stronger investment governance, provides TH with a firmer financial position as it balances returns to depositors with its broader mandate of facilitating and supporting Malaysians undertaking the haj.
