OMEGA’s Latest Seamaster Collection Plays Both Sides Of The Bond Story

James Bond has had a watch on his wrist for more than three decades. Now, OMEGA is putting Bond and one of his most recognisable enemies into the same collection.

The brand has introduced six new Seamaster Diver 300M watches tied to the James Bond and Spectre franchises. Three are dedicated to Bond, while three carry the Spectre name. All six use the same 42mm case and OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, but the designs take different approaches.

The collection is split between two stainless-steel watches sold individually and four watches available through two limited-edition sets. One set is dedicated to James Bond and the other to Spectre.

The individual Bond model features a grade 5 titanium bezel ring and a blue aluminium dial with a laser-engraved wave pattern. The Spectre version has a black ceramic bezel ring and a blackened grained dial. Both come on brushed mesh bracelets.

The two limited-edition sets take the designs further. Each is limited to 77 numbered sets and includes one stainless-steel watch and one platinum-gold model. The watches in these sets are not sold separately.

On the stainless-steel models, the individual edition number is placed on a plate at 9 o’clock. The casebacks on all four watches use OMEGA’s wave-edged design and Naiad Lock system.

The platinum-gold watches have polished ceramic bezel rings with diving scales made from platinum. Their 18K white-gold dials use PVD gradients. The James Bond model has a blue dial with a gun-barrel pattern, while the Spectre version uses dark grey with an octopus design. Both feature their respective emblems on the rotor in 18K Moonshine Gold.

The differences continue with the accessories included in each set. Both come with an additional NATO strap, strap-changing tool, cufflinks, cord bracelet, loupe, leather travel pouch, card holder and certificate of authenticity.

The Bond set uses 007 engraving on the strap keepers and includes a blue travel pouch. The Spectre set uses the Spectre emblem on its strap keepers, with matching cufflinks and a cord bracelet and a black travel pouch.

The collection also marks the first time OMEGA has brought James Bond and Spectre together. While Bond’s watches have been a recurring part of the franchise since 1995, Spectre takes a separate place in the new collection, giving OMEGA two distinct designs built around the same Seamaster platform.

The six watches are currently available through OMEGA boutiques and online.
