Singapore Stocks Open Mixed, STI Up 0.06%

Singapore shares opened marginally higher on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) gaining 3.25 points or 0.06% to 5,667.58 as at 9.09 am.

Market breadth was mixed, with 94 advancers and 87 decliners. Trading volume stood at 83.44 million shares, with a total value of S$190.53 million.

Among the STI constituents, DBS slipped 0.09% to S$77.76, while OCBC was at S$31.95 and UOB at S$43.23.

Sembcorp Industries traded at S$5.93, SGX at S$20.73 and ST Engineering at S$11.05, while Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was at S$5.03.

The broader market also saw gains among real estate investment trusts (REITs), led by CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust which rose 0.89% to S$2.26.

CapitaLand Ascendas REIT was at S$2.24, Mapletree Industrial Trust at S$1.83, Keppel REIT at S$0.85, Frasers Centrepoint Trust at S$2.09 and Keppel DC REIT at S$2.13.

In the derivatives market, total volume stood at 9,920 contracts as at 8.54 am.

The FTSE China A50 Index Futures for October was at 13,816.00, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for December stood at 50,300.00.

SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for October was at 24,436.00, while MSCI Singapore Index Futures for October was at 530.05.
