Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) said an ECRL Comprehensive Inspection Train completed the journey from the Integrated Transport Terminal Gombak station to KotaSAS station in Pahang in about 85 minutes.
MRL said two of its board committees — the Finance and Technical Committee and the Board Audit, Risk and Governance Committee — held their meetings onboard the inspection train during a return journey between the two stations.
The return trip also took about 85 minutes.
MRL said the exercise allowed board members to directly assess train performance and the project’s current progress under actual operating conditions as the East Coast Rail Link moves closer to its operational phase.
Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak said the 85-minute journey represented encouraging progress in the testing and readiness phase.
The train service build China Communication Construction Company is scheduled to start end of this year.
