Johan Setia recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Selangor on Thursday morning at 178, as all six monitoring areas in the state remained in the unhealthy category.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Shah Alam recorded an API of 169 as at 7am, followed by Banting at 167, Petaling Jaya at 165, Klang at 164 and Kuala Selangor at 156.
Other parts of the Klang Valley also recorded unhealthy air quality, including Putrajaya at 174, Batu Muda at 173 and Cheras at 167.
Nationwide, a total of 38 areas recorded unhealthy API readings, while another 30 areas were in the moderate category.
API readings of between 101 and 200 are classified as unhealthy, while readings between 201 and 300 are considered very unhealthy.
Members of the public, particularly those in sensitive groups, have been advised to monitor the latest air quality readings through APIMS and reduce outdoor activities if conditions worsen.
