The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) fare structure is expected to be announced by the Transport Ministry by the end of October 2026, with commercial operations potentially commencing earlier than scheduled in mid-December.
Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) said the fare evaluation and approval process is in its final stages, with the proposed rates expected to be presented to the Cabinet soon.
MRL cautioned the public against relying on fare rates circulating on social media, describing them as inaccurate and speculative.
The company urged passengers to await official announcements through the Transport Ministry, MRL and ECRL communication channels.
It said the final fare structure would take into account public affordability and value for passengers.
