NuEnergy Holdings Bhd has secured a contract worth approximately RM10.1 million from KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd for the development of interconnection facilities associated with the 120-megawatt (MW) Labuan Power Plant project.
The firm said it accepted the Letter of Award (LOA) on Oct 9, 2026, covering the design, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd’s (SESB) interconnection facilities.
The project, located in the Federal Territory of Labuan, involves facilities associated with the 120MW power plant owned by Rancha Power Sdn Bhd.
NuEnergy said the project is targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2027.
The company described the contract as a significant milestone in its strategic expansion into the extra-high voltage (EHV) and interconnection facilities sector.
It said the project would provide an opportunity to demonstrate its technical capabilities and execution capacity in delivering complex electrical infrastructure works.
Successful completion of the contract is expected to strengthen NuEnergy’s track record in the EHV and interconnection facilities segment, positioning the group to pursue larger-scale electricity transmission, power infrastructure and other high-voltage projects.
The company also expects the contract to contribute positively to its order book, revenue and profitability while supporting its long-term growth strategy.
