More UD heavy-duty Quester trucks for Tenaga Nasional Berhad

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Fleet Management Department has placed an order of nine units of heavy-duty UD Quester 8-litre rigid trucks, to be fulfilled by Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE). This brings a total of 40 UD trucks that are now in the fleet of the country’s largest electricity utility provider.

Van den Heede, UD Trucks Managing Director Hub Malaysia says: “TNB’s choice is a testament of UD Truck’s reliability. Quester is made to fit all the needs of Malaysian customers and their logistics demands, with versatility, uptime and safety in mind. It is a truck designed for reliability and built with robust and quality components to deliver extra productivity and superior uptime.”

The nine newly purchased UD Quester trucks comprised of seven units of 18-tonne trucks and two units of 24-tonne trucks. The trucks  will all be used by TNB as mobile generator sets to support the national electricity needs in case of any breakdown, standby and planned shutdown.

Mohammad Anas Ibrahim, General Manager, Core Operation & Shared Services, Fleet Management Department, Tenaga Nasional Berhad adds that the TNB Fleet Management Department bought its first UD truck in 2006 and has plans to purchase more light and medium-duty trucks this year to replace other older trucks in its fleet, with the objective to increase operational efficiency.

All the trucks will be allocated at TNB’s Fleet Management Department branches across Peninsular Malaysia.
