A Dutch Brand Opens Its Doors In SEA

Global Dutch-based hotel, citizenM an award-winning brand sets foot in Kuala Lumpur, its first in Southeast Asia and third in Asia. citizenM, an affordable luxury hotel is for mobile travellers of the world who are on the move and want to maximise their valuable time. The hotel is designed with in-room technology where everything is controlled by an iPad and fast unlimited free WiFi, catered for the new type of travellers who value ‘affordable luxury’ hotel experience in the city.

citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang is named after the district it calls home where the buzzing shopping, entertainment, restaurants and street food are just a stone’s throw away. The hotel’s location is perfect for guests to enjoy the city’s character and surroundings before returning to the hotel for some rest and relaxation. Hence, guests can easily maximise their leisure and work time.

The 210-key hotel will disrupt the traditional hotel industry with innovative front-desk –  the one-minute check-in/check-out kiosks – and smart rooms packed with efficient luxury to provide guests with a seamless experience. Guests can also relax at the designer living room featuring Vitra furniture and artwork by local artists such as Azizi Latiff and Afiq Faris before heading to their rooms.

Each guest room comes with a XL king-size bed and controlled by an iPad – MoodPad – where the guest can set the mood in the room.

The hotel also features canteenM, a 24/7 dining space and bar and, three creative meeting spaces called societyM.

Prior to its opening, the brand handpicked 15 “citizens of KL”, all locals who represent the diverse fabric of the city embodying their own backgrounds, cultures, businesses, hobbies and lifestyles. These “citizens of KL” proudly emblazon the hotel’s facade.

Since 2008, a steady roll-out across Europe and bold ventures into North America and Asian markets have placed citizenM firmly in the minds of business travellers who like to move fast and sleep well at first-rate urban locations in the world’s most exciting cities.
