Come March 2020, a month of music extravanganzas , the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP) and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) are hosting amazing performances starting off with a Chamber Concert by the MPO musicians presenting works by Sutermeister, Beethoven and Enescu which will be on the March 3 at 6.30pm.
Next, the MPO will present concert themed Power And Poetry with renowned conductor Fabio Mechetti conducting music composed by Beethoven and Bartok and legendary pianist Mikhail Pletnev making his debut on March 7 at 8.30pm.
Reliving Beethoven’s journey in his early years with MPO in an all-Beethoven concert themed The Early Symphonies on March 13 at 8.30pm. The concert will feature Jun Markl and violinist Clara-Jumi Kang.
Let the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra musicians serenade after work with music in a Chamber Concert on March 18 at 8.30pm. The journey continues with Family Day Fun concert themed Beethoven Lives Upstairs conducted by Gene Chang and presente by Classical Kids Live on March 21 at 2.30pm.
As the finale, MPO’s resident conductor Gerard Salonga together with pianist Ng Chong Lim will lead the MPO concert themed Viva Beethoven! on March 28 at 8.30pm
