Volvo Buses Malaysia Picks New GM From Within The Group

Volvo Buses Malaysia has filled the General Manager’s post by appointing a long time loyalist to the Volvo Group, Karen Tan as its new division head to spearhead the business further.

Karen has been with the Volvo Group for over 9 years and has helmed various positions before rising to the occasion as the Volvo Buses General Manager. She is well versed in the automotive industry having nearly 20 years of industry experience working in several companies including Naza Motors, Proton and Frost & Sullivan prior to joining Volvo Malaysia.

  1. before taking over the post, she was involved in retail network development, Uptime Center, strategic planning and project management. Her most recent role was as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Volvo Trucks Malaysia. She was part of Volvo Trucks’ management team since 2016. In this new role, Karen will lead the Malaysia bus team to grow the business in both city buses

On her appointment Karen hopes to continue strengthen Volvo Buses premium ownership experience and build a strong customer-centric mindset from the Malaysia bus team.
