Zurich Launches Covid-19 Post-Vaccination Cover To Stakeholders

Zurich Malaysia (Zurich) has launched the provision of Covid-19 post-vaccination cover to stakeholders in support of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme

The complimentary cover will be made available for Zurich employees, intermediaries, strategic partners and selected Zurich products for a period of 30 days from the date of their first vaccination.

Underwritten by Zurich General Insurance and Zurich General Takaful, the complimentary Covid-19 post-vaccination plan covers accidental death and permanent disablement and post-vaccination death benefits of RM2,000.

The upgraded coverage increases the payout amount for accidental death, permanent disablement and post-vaccination death to RM10,000 and inconvenience benefit to RM2,000.

In addition, if the customer is diagnosed with an adverse event requiring hospitalisation as a result of complications arising from Covid-19 vaccination during the coverage period, a post vaccination inconvenience benefit of RM500 will be paid.

Interested applicants must register with Zurich prior to their vaccination to be eligible for this free coverage. As availability is limited, cover will be provided on a first come first served basis.

Upon registration, customers can opt to upgrade the plan for an extended coverage of 60 days in total.

Recently, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin launched a Guidebook for the National Immunisation Programme (NIP) On Feb 16.

Besides Zurich Malaysia, Prudential Malaysia will be providing RM500 cash relief for hospitalisation due to adverse effects from immunisation (AEFI) within 7 days after an approved Covid-19 vaccination.

Takaful Malaysia is looking into potentially extending coverage to include post-vaccination effects as well.
