Special Focus On Digital Malaysia 2030

The Economic Planning Unit together with the Prime Minister’s Department have been steadfastly developing on blueprints for the Malaysia’s transition towards a Digital Nation. This has been accelerated after the country was swept by the Covid-19 pandemic leaving many sectors of the economy vulnerable from the challenges on lockdowns.

Identifying Digital as the progressive solution for the nation, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muyhiddin Yassin, Malaysia is embarking on various initiatives that will transition the country to a technologically advance nation by 2030. 12th Malaysia Blueprint has earmarked Digital Transformation as a key driver in moving forward, recently the Government launched MyDIGITAL another milestone in achieving the Digital Dream and the Malaysian Digital Economy Blueprint will enlist all Ministries to execute various programs and transformation exercises accordingly.

Malaysia’s 2030 Target

The People- Creation of 500,000 new jobs 100% household with access to internet All students to have access to online learning •Businesess-30% uplift across all sectors by 2030, 22.6% of digital economy to Malaysia’s GDP, 875,00 mSME’s adopt eCommerce, 2 home grown Unicorns, RM70 billion investment in digitalisation, increase startups number to 5000 •Government- 100% civil service to be digital literate, 80% service to be online, all ministries to offer cashless service by 2022, 80% cloud by 2020.

In view of this monumental transition, BusinessToday with support from the Prime Ministers Department will be publishing a Special Digital Malaysia 2030: Is Your Business Ready? edition in July to bring forth some of the initiatives being discuses and currently planned. We will breakdown the blueprints and highlight aspects that is going to impact positively on the business community.
