The government has identified five key measures to support the country’s recovery momentum in 2022 which include strengthening the public healthcare system, supporting all business segments, stimulating the labour market, advancing strategic investments, and providing direct assistance to those in need.
Tengku Zafrul said, “Malaysia remains committed to long-term fiscal consolidation and institutional reforms to build resilience, even as we focus on short- and medium-term recovery measures. The country’s medium-term growth prospects remain strong driven by an open, trade oriented and competitive economy complemented by a deep capital market and resilient financial sector.”

This conference was organised by Bursa Malaysia Bhd in collaboration with CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd
Themed “Rebuilding a Sustainable Economy”, the conference focused on the challenges, recovery, and reform of the Malaysian economy. He also engaged with nineteen fund managers from the UK and Europe, with a combined total asset under management of around USD287 billion Bursa Malaysia Bhd in collaboration with CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd recently held the Invest Malaysia London 2022 conference.
“Malaysia has a deep and mature capital market, with diversity, growth potential, and a wide range of investment opportunities,” said Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia. “Last year, Bursa Malaysia had seen increased fund-raising activities, with 30 IPOs compared to just 19 in 2020.
We will actively pursue new investors – both foreign and domestic – to further grow our capital market while providing solutions that will encourage them to seriously consider Malaysia as a viable investment destination.”
