KLCI Ended in Positive Note Breaching Resistance Level; Asian Equities Closed Mixed

Kuala Lumpur, Mar 25 –Bursa Malaysia KCLI closed in positive territory and breached the 1,600-point psychological resistance level. Most of the equities markets in the region remain in the back foot, as the sentiment remain somewhat gloomy over a broad jump in inflation and mounting Ukraine-Russia crisis mount. Policymakers from the ECB and BoJ coupled with the hawkish stance taken by Fed also conveyed inflation woes of late, which in turn propel fears of faster monetary policy normalization. Rally in the metal prices lifted Australia’s All Ordinaries, their key earner iron ore, helped the index to perform well in these 2 weeks. The metals and mining sub-index, which gained 0.9% to hit its highest in more than two weeks, was set for a 6% surge this week on strong iron ore and nickel prices.
